Those are Tiger Lilies. They are also called Orange Lilies or Tawny Lilies. Funny enough, these flowers are edible. There are yellow variety that are used in Chinese cooking.

Gorgeous! i have these in a double bloom i cant wait for them to open few more days! Each time one of my flowers blooms i feel like im saying hello to an old friend hope that doesnt sound to nutty hahaa but its true! they come up each year and ive had them for 16 years my double blooms, stella dora, coneflowers, my clematis which is a lavender double bloom just amazing, and my lambs ears love em all!

That is not a Daylily though. The leaves are shaped much differently.

yes those are star gazer lilies and when they bloom its like the 4th of july! they bloom huge flowers down the sides of the stalk! nature is amazing isnt it?!

im in rhode island and they dont grow crazy like the orange daylily does on the sides of the road i planted them in my yard a long time ago and forgot just how much i love them! but truly the blooms are just huge! i might have to go plant shopping after this haha!

yes they are everywhere and double almost it seems each year i have split and shared mine with 3 or 4 different people and still the next year mine come back up just as big and beautiful as ever!

Some flowers can absolutely be left black and white. It depends on finding the correct b&w match because Lightroom has different presets for b&w. Plus b&w is good for displaying dark emotions. I do agree though with you that some flowers should be left the color they are, but you do not want to display the same exact color photo over and over again because it gets the reader boring. I mean yes I do display the same image of like a Daylily lets say, but I use different presets for some of the images, I also use different tones of contrast, cropping, etc. It makes it better when you basically manipulate the images to different ranges of setting so people are not just limited to just one choice.

i love the color photos too but the way you show us in black and white then bam!! the color shot the contrast is so dramatic i love it. you inspired me yesterday to go around my yard and snap some pictures of my flowers for my scrapbook so ty for that!
